Marshfield, MO

So here we are in Webster County... Missouri has been blessed with hills... not the kind that are kind to bikers, but hills that require you to be fast on the gears... its 30 seconds down... and then two minutes up and then down then up then down and then up.... over and over in a mind numbing repitition...

Last night we got into camp around 7ish... there were 12 riders from univ. of Illinois there in town riding to LA... They are riding with van support... that is good for them, becasue the section of the western express they are taking will be brutal in the July heat.

It is Erik's goal to make it home in time for the 12th... So if you are thinking of meeting us at the atlantic to see us finish... get your travel plans started... We still have Ill and Kentucky and Virginia left... oh yea and the rest of Missouri.

We still havent decided to take Chrissy's plan or Jerry's plan or the Trns Am maps to the sea, but I recon we will have to decide in the next few days... or weeks as it were.

Well off to find a place to sleep for the night and something to eat...

Much love
t

ps someone call dad and tell them we passed the sign for rt 44 to Rolla!

Just out of curiosity, do you and Erik talk a lot while you ride?

I can't believe how much you have accomplished! I also love that you have been blogging a lot. We read it every night together.

Love,
Brooksie, Stewart, and Charlotte

Hey there! It was great meeting you in Ash Grove! I've put a link to your blog on Allison Across America. Unfortunately I missed going to Cookie's too yesterday. It was only 30 miles out from Ash Grove and the small group I was riding with didn't want to stop so early in the day.

Mike drove yesterday and gave me a few bites of his Caribbean pumpkin pie that he took to go. It was pretty good. The consensus was that Cookie's was neat, but not terribly unlike all of the other diners we've been frequenting.

Here's how to add links to your blog:

From the Dashboard, click "Layout," then click "add a page element," "Link list" is one of the choices of elements to add. Now you should be set!

Hope your journey is going well, good luck with the Ozarks!

Also, where are you guys going in Illinois? We may be able to provide you with some assistance there since most of our team is from IL.

So glad you guys made it out of he Rockies! I still can't believe y'all are crazy enough to bike through them, or to attempt biking across the US for that matter! Y'all sure do know how to live life!

We had so much fun meeting you all in Telluride and we are so glad that Duke passed our number on. We thought about y'all the entire way from Colorado to New York. Even though we were glad we were driving a car, we threw around the idea of what it must be like biking across the beautiful USA. (Although Kansas was so flat and boring, we wanted to shoot ourselves.)

Anyway, good luck on the rest of the ride and hopefully we will get to see y'all at the end of the Summer on our way back to Telluride!
